Elemental Nature
Hello there,
It's lovely to meet you. My name is Robin, and I am a Physical Therapist, Yoga Teacher, Educator, and Transpersonal Healer from Finland. For the past 13 years, I have been working with clients in a healing arts-based practice. Since 2018, I have gradually shifted the focus of my practice towards embodied, transpersonal healing work.
For most of my life, I have had a limiting belief informing me that it is safer for me to just stay quiet, and that communication is something that doesn’t come naturally to me. With awe, I have observed friends and colleagues with the gift of articulating themselves, wondering how to unlock that gift in myself. Now looking back, I can recognize that life (of course) has put me on a path that continues to challenge me in developing my self-expression.
In astrology, they speak about something called the "missing element". It refers to the element that you have the least of in your natal constitution. Each element (earth, water, fire, or air.) is believed to represent different aspects of ourselves, such as our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual characteristics. The theory suggests that by embodying the missing element, you can naturally boost your personal growth and evolution. In other words, the missing element can be seen as your “medicine”. Lately, I've been reflecting a lot on this theme, and I might write a separate post about it.
My intention with my contributions here is to explore ways in which I can express and embody my missing element, which is AIR. One of the main things Air, or the wind, represents is self-expression. The wind is also the connector and the carrier of wisdom. Therefore my intention is also to share my contemplations and embodied understandings with like-spirited. As I explore writing as a medicine for myself, I hope it can act as inspirational medicine to others.
A deep interest of mine, which has led me to the work I do, is how we as humans can reclaim our innocent and wild nature. I am interested in practices that can help us to remember our elemental nature – who we are beyond what society says we should be, and who we think that we need to be. How can we remember our place in the natural world, as part of the circle of life, and not separate from it?
In my continued quest to embody the powers of nature, I write about things related to healing, meditation, self-realization, embodiment, nature-based spirituality, and personal contemplations of life.
I look forward to discovering this new platform and what it has to offer.
Robin
